Son with ADHD - experience with Vayarin?

Postby elainebronson88 » Tue May 10, 2016 8:13 am

I've got a pre-teen son who was recently diagnosed with ADHD. I wasn't wild about starting the normal treatments so my doctor recommended Vayarin as an alternative. It's a 'medical food' that supposedly treats lipid imbalances. It also takes a while to show any improvement supposedly.

How long does Vayarin take? Any side effects that our family should be aware of? How effective is it?

Yes, I have given my son Vayarin. He struggles with ADHD inattentive which is different than the hyperactivity kind. I wanted to try anything instead of putting him on the amphetamine based drugs for ADHD that the psychiatrists prescribe.

Vayarin has help him. It takes a while to see results. It's basically a high potency, very pure Omega-3 supplement. I like it.
